Born December 2, 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana, Britney Spears' emergence as a teenage star followed achievements as a precociously talented child. Her story reads almost like a fairytale. After performing in local church choirs and dance revues around her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, she was invited to attend performing arts summer school in New York after auditioning for the Mickey Mouse Club at age 8.
Britney Spears' first album was recorded with top pop producers including Eric Foster White and Max Martin. The album's first single "...Baby One More Time" was released late in 1998.
